Dear Joan and Jim,
I can't thank you enough for all you have done. This training has been nothing but wonderful! The way you welcome everyone with open arms. Not only educating us on Yoga Therapy and health, but about life and the realities. I have become a stronger and more confident person since the training. Jim you bring a calmness to me. At first I didn't think much of Yoga Nidra and came to realize how powerful this practice is.  Joan you are filled with joy. Your smile and kind heart is something I admire. I can't thank you both enough.

Dearest Joan and Jim,

Before I wrote this card I needed time to process and take in all the
remarkable learning from being with you both this
summer.

As we move into fall I am fully ready and prepared to teach my first
“therapeutic” workshop this afternoon.

I’m dumbfounded to find myself calm, confident and ready to pass on
some of the wonderful learning I have
experienced.

Your knowledgeable, supportive and confidence-build teaching style, I
know has had a large part to play in my
transformation.

I can’t thank you both enough. I had so many learning’s on and off the
mat and feel like I really experienced the full benefits of yoga for the first
time in a very long time.

With heartfelt gratitude and much love,

Hello!

I am happy to hear you are interested in Yoga therapy, as I believe it to be a truly powerful method of healing.  My name is Patricia and I am currently enrolled in the Integrative Yoga Teacher Training program taught by Joan and Jim Ryan in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  After many years spent working as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and educator, I changed directions slightly and began teaching YogaFit classes ten years ago and have been practicing massage therapy for pain mangagement at a neurologist's office for the past five years.  I spent nearly two years researching various 200-hour Yoga teacher training programs and, after meeting Joan and Jim and speaking with them about their program, I decided the training they offer is exactly what is needed in order to encourage healing on a deeper level for my students and patients.

Joan and Jim are both extemely kind, knowledgable and experienced teachers.  They make the material easy to understand and allow ample time for questioning.  The program is very well organized with each day beginning with a two-hour Yoga session themed around what we will be learning on that particular day.  We then break for a small meal and tea and, when finished, engage in a lecture about the history, philosophy, lifestyle and ethics of Yoga.  The morning ends with techniques training where focus is mainly on asanas and pranayama.  We practice our teaching methods in small groups and then progress to longer teaching sessions in slightly larger groups.  The  environment is not intimidating at all and each student is allowed plenty of time for exploration of the material.

After breaking for lunch, we focus on anatomy and physiology and discuss, more specifically, the therapeutic applications, benefits, contraindications and modifications of certain poses.  We then practice teaching methods again which allows us to apply what we just learned.  We continue the day with various lectures and activities revolving around Yoga philosopy including (but not limited to!) the koshas, mantras, mudras, the chakra system and meditation.  Finally, we end each day with an extraordinary, deep relaxation session.

There are various affordable hotels in Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville and many restaurants, shops and natural wonders to explore.  Please feel free to e-mail me with questions if you are interested in attending the Integrative Yoga Therapy program.  I believe the program to be quite excellent and recommend it highly.

Peace, Light and Love~

Dearest Joan and Jim,

Thank you so much for guiding me on the path of becoming a yoga teacher. You both did a fabulous job and as a result my attitude has shifted considerably in a number of areas.

First of all I realized the importance of developing lesson plans. This has been an opportunity to not only learn about the heart and soul of yoga, but will help me establish a meaningful and creative class that will flow smoothly. I really did not expect to learn that. I will most definitely continue to create lesson plans.

Then I had a huge realization about being a teacher and leaving the ego out of it. There will be some students whose knowledge will surpass mine and many that will have not studied so long. I will neither show off or doubt my own ability, but simply share my love of yoga and guide the class accordingly. I will have fun, encourage my students, and offer my way with compassion and a big smile.

Finally your focus on how to teach and be safe was paramount.

Of course, there is so much more.  I loved our discussions, learning about the Koshes, the Chakras, Yoga Nidra, the 8 Limbs and getting some great new friends…… For the record, I consider this investment of time and money very well spent and appreciate all the care you used in putting the program together.

With much love and gratitude,

Eva F. Duran LMT

I am a Yoga Alliance member, member of Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association-having completed 200 hours in a Kripalu yoga training program.  Last February I registered for an additional 200 hours of training at RadiantWellnessCenter in Yoga Therapy.

I realized that much of my program would be a review.  I was very pleasantly surprised with the thoroughness of the program and the depth of instruction offered by Joan and Jim Ryan, my teachers.  The program focused on each system in the body and disorders and diseases affiliated with them as well as specific postures for each system combined with breathing exercises, mudras and meditation practices.  Through this program I was presented with materials that I can use to help clients with many different health concerns.

The philosophy of yoga was also covered in a very intensive way.  Each of the sessions, of which there were ten, was filled with great information and practices that are very helpful to me in my business and personal life.  I recommend this program for anyone who works  with clients who may need a different and expanded approach to maintaining their wellness.

With gratitude,
